Rev. Wm. States Lee, born 1793, died July 28, 1875, was pastor of the Presbyterian Churches at Dorchester and Beech Hill for the six years proceeding 1821, when he received a call to the Presbyterian Church of Edisto Island, where he remained, except for a short period during the War between the States, until his death, a term of fifty-two years.
