The Union Times, May 19, 1922

Mrs. Mary Bobo Lawson, widow of the late Berry Lawson, died at her home near Boatman Spring, Wednesday and her body was laid to rest in the Lower Fairforest Baptist Church cemetery Thursday afternoon at 3:30 o'clock. She was 72 years of age, and had been in feeble health for a long time. For the past two months she had been unable to leave her home.

Mrs. Lawson is survived by the following loving children: One daughter, Mrs. Kate Fincher, and five sons, Jesse Lawson, Charles Lawson, Robert Lawson, Munro Lawson and Berry Lawson, all of Union county.

Mrs. Lawson was for many years a consistent member of Lower Fairforest church, and her beautiful life was a benediction to all who knew her. She lived in the spirit of Christ, and was always ready to minister to others. She was a faithful wife and a devoted mother, and has left to her children a rich heritage, indeed. The burial was conducted by Rev. Lewis M. Rice and her body was laid by the side of her husband's. The grave was covered with beautiful flowers, the tribute of loving friends.
